Memorial Park - Camp Photo
Join us this summer at Memorial Park and Bear Hollow Zoo! Explore outdoor and nature-based activities from swimming and hiking to animal encounters and more.

Week 1: June 7-11, 2021
“I Like to Move it, Move it”
Let's dive deep into the different ways that animals move and how they do it! We'll take tours through Bear Hollow Zoo, create art, play interactively, and investigate animal movement and body shapes! We'll uncover movement mysteries like how snakes can climb trees, how otters swim, and more!

Week 2: June 14-18, 2021
“The Fast and the Furriest”
Animals are built for survival. What special adaptations do they have that help them become the fast or the furriest? Let's explore the amazing adaptations of animals through tours of Bear Hollow Zoo, creating our own animal with special adaptations, and more!

Week 3: June 21-25, 2021
“Diary of a Not-So-Wimpy Animal”
It takes skill, strength, and smarts to survive in the wild, especially when you aren't at the top of the food chain! Let's learn about the food web and see how Bear Hollow Zoo caters to some pretty big appetites around here!

Week 4: June 28-July 2, 2021
“May the Forest be with Zoo”
Young Padawans come explore the Forest and learn about the homes and habitats of the many animals at Bear Hollow Zoo! You'll be trained in the ways and honor of the Jedi as you are challenged in outdoor adventures. Prepare to become one with the Forest!

Week 5: July 6-9, 2021
“Keeper Kids”
Do you have what it takes to be a zookeeper? Learn the ins-and-outs of the profession from cleaning to enrichment, veterinary care to handling, and nutrition to habitat maintenance! Get a first-hand look at the day-to-day life of a zookeeper!

Week 6: July 12-16, 2021
“Call of the Wild”
Do you hear the Call of the Wild? Let's explore how animals use their senses in sensational ways! Use your senses, test your skills, and see how you compare to the animals at Bear Hollow Zoo!

Week 7: July 19-23, 2021
“ZSI: Zoo Scene Investi-gators”
What do you call an alligator in a vest? An investi-gator! Detectives needed! Pull out your magnifying glass as we investigate a mystery! Use evidence and clues to solve animal mysteries. Look for animal tracks to help identify the culprit!


Week 8: July 26-30, 2021
“Guardians of the Zooniverse”
Get ready for a zoo-venture! A new mission will help us learn about the animals at Bear Hollow Zoo and teach us how we can help be the best conservationists we can be and make a PAWSitive difference!

Camp registration is limited to 4 weeks per camper. Campers must bring a bag lunch. Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Early Drop Off (7:30 am to 9:00 am) and/or Late Pick Up (4:00 pm to 5:30 pm) are available for an additional fee.


Participants will receive via email a guide to camp including what to bring daily and camp rules/needs. You will also receive a pickup tag to display in your vehicle at drop off/pick up times on the first day of camp.

COVID-19 Policy
• Per Section 7 of the ACCUG Ordinance for the 11th Declaration of a Local State Emergency Related to COVID-19, masks are required.

• Campers will have their temperatures taken upon arrive each morning.
• Anyone with a temperature of 100.4º or higher will not be allowed to enter the facility and must be fever free without the aid of fever reducing medication for 48 hours before returning.

Reminders
  • Maximum of four weeks per camper.
  • Campers are required to wear face masks the entire duration of camp.
  • Campers must bring a lunch and water bottle each day.
  • Personal items (including cell phones) are not allowed at camp.
