Camp Fun at SCDC
Camp is held at Sandy Creek Nature Center & Sandy Creek Park. Sessions are June 3–July 19, 2024, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Early and late care is available. Registration is limited to 4 weeks per camper. SCNC Members receive a 10% discount. 

Designed as an outdoor oriented and active camp. Campers will swim, enjoy outdoor games, hike, and more. If your children love the outdoors and lead an active lifestyle, this camp is for them. All sessions include swimming, canoeing, hiking, archery, crafts and outdoor games. (weather permitting)

At this time, campers will not be required to wear masks or socially distance. Camps will operate at full capacity. Staff will continue to monitor COVID-19 conditions.

Week 1:  6/3/24-6/7/24- Hooray for Herptiles: 
Join us this week as we explore the property for slimy and cold blooded creatures.  See why snakes are cool and study the amazing world of turtles.  Venture into Lake Chapman, create crafts, learn outdoor recreational skills, and have heaps of fun.
 
Week 2: 6/10/24-6/14/24- Aquatic Adventures:
Have you ever been curious about what lies beneath the surface? This week we will find out as we dive into explorations of the water ways of Sandy Creek.  Fish in Lake Chapman and try your skills at canoeing. Go on a Creek Walk, investigate invertebrates, and splash around as we go where the water takes us. 
 
Week 3: 6/17/24-6/21/24-A Trek through Time:
What is the stride of a T-Rex?  Who lived here before us?  What constellation looks like a fishing hook?  Find out this week as we delve into the past and gaze into the future.  Explore the origins of our land.  Create a habitat that might survive on the moon.  This week will be timeless!
 
Week 4: 6/24/24-6/28/24- Get Muddy!
This week we will be hands on as we uncover what lives beneath us. Celebrate a day of mud play.  Slither and wiggle like worms, make mud pies, and be prepared to spend the week getting muddy.
 
Week 5: 7/1/24-7/5/24- Camp Escape
 
We think of Sandy Creek Day Camp as an escape to adventure.  Partake in a nature based escape room and learn teamwork skills.  Relax to sounds of nature, practice yoga with turtles, and use nature to recharge.
 
 
Week 6:  7/8/24-7/12/24-Water Olympics 
A gold medal in boat building, a silver medal in swimming like an otter, and a bronze in paddling. These are all medal you can aim to win this week as we celebrate the Summer Olympics in our own Sandy Creek Day Camp way.  We will create aquatic challenges to participate so that all of our campers can be Olympians.
 
Week 7:  7/15/24-7/19/24-A Brush with Nature:
Let nature be your muse.  Creating forts out of twigs and leaves, using natural materials for paint, and adopting and designing pet rocks are just a few samples of the creative skills of this week’s camp.  Bring your imagination and leave with a passion for the beauty all around us!
