Wonders of the Wild Day Camp at Memorial Park (7-12 years) - Mammal Mania (June 2-6) Join us this summer at Memorial Park and Bear Hollow Zoo! Explore outdoor and nature-based activities from swimming and hiking to animal encounters and more.
Week 1: June 2nd-6th"Mammal Mania" Get ready for an exciting week of diving into the amazing world of mammals! From furry forest dwellers to scurrying friends who live below the surface, campers will learn all about the unique adaptations, habitats, and behaviors of mammals that reside at Bear Hollow Zoo!Week 2: June 9th-13th"Spectacular Senses"Prepare yourself to enjoy a sensory-rich adventure! Throughout the week, we will utilize our five senses to help us navigate the natural world. We will also learn how animal senses differ from our own.Week 3: June 16th-18th & June 20th*NO CAMP THURSDAY, JUNE 19TH*"Hidden Helpers" Help us uncover the secret superheroes of nature! From pollinators and decomposers to underground engineers, campers will discover the tiny but mighty creatures that keep ecosystems thriving.Week 4: June 23rd-27th"Birds and Beaks" Join us for a week dedicated to our feathered friends! Campers will explore the amazing world of birds, learning about their unique adaptations and diverse habitats. Get ready to flap, chirp, and explore the wonders of birds!Week 5: June 30th-July 3rd *NO CAMP FRIDAY, JULY 4TH*"Flora Fanatics"During this week, campers will explore the incredible variety of plant life, from towering trees to tiny wildflowers. They will learn how plants grow, survive, and support entire ecosystems! Hopefully, this experience will inspire campers to blossom into junior botanists.Week 6: July 7th-11th"Reptile Rangers"Slither, crawl, and explore a thrilling time all about reptiles! Campers will dive into the scaly world of snakes, lizards, and turtles, discovering their unique roles in ecosystems. Get ready for a week of scaly surprises and a chance to change the narrative on these misunderstood creatures! Week 7: July 14th-18th"Dusky Dwellers" Step into the twilight and explore the creatures that come alive at dusk! Campers will discover the fascinating lives of nocturnal and crepuscular animals like owls, foxes, and skunks all during the convenient hours of the day.Week 8: July 21st-25th"Animal Architects"Prepare to uncover the amazing engineers of the animal kingdom! Campers will explore how creatures like beavers, birds, ants, and spiders create incredible homes and habitats in nature.Camp registration is limited to 4 weeks per camper. Campers must bring a bag lunch. Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Kinderswim - Kinderswim 9am - Memorial Park The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Kinderswim program is a free initiative started with the goal of helping ACC children learn how to swim. The program is offered to all Athens-Clarke County 5-year-old children at no cost. The lessons are broken into three, 45-minute classes a week for three weeks, for a total of nine lessons, and are available at all of the ACCLS pools. Participants who complete at least seven of the nine lessons will receive a free pool pass for the remainder of the pool season.Rules & Tips - All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit. Cotton is not allowed in the pool. - Participants cannot register after the first two lessons to ensure swimmers have adequate time to learn to swim safely. - Participants should bring their own towels. - Although there is no cost, participants must register online. - Participants must be 5-years-old to take part in Kinderswim.

Kinderswim - Kinderswim 9am - Memorial Park The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Kinderswim program is a free initiative started with the goal of helping ACC children learn how to swim. The program is offered to all Athens-Clarke County 5-year-old children at no cost. The lessons are broken into three, 45-minute classes a week for three weeks, for a total of nine lessons, and are available at all of the ACCLS pools. Participants who complete at least seven of the nine lessons will receive a free pool pass for the remainder of the pool season.Rules & Tips - All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit. Theatre: Summer Camp 2025 - Historical Performance Theatre Camp Summer Camp 2025 Historical Performance Theatre Camp (10-16 Year Old)Athens Creative Theatre presents a one-week camp focused on researching important historical figures and preparing a dramatic presentation on the character of the camper's chosen historical figure. The camp will center around exploring history and learning the principles of dramatization while equipping children with the tools they need to present aural history in a creative and fun way. (Quinn Hall, Memorial Park) Teen Drama Camp (13-17 Year Old) A one-week intensive camp focused on adding valuable skills to the developing actor's "tool-kit". Campers will explore the range of human emotions through theatre games and activities, develop their script reading and comprehension skills through monologue and scene work, and develop improvisational skills. Teen Drama Camp is a place to grow as a young actor and to build skills amongst peers. (Quinn Hall, Memorial Park)Youth Drama Camp (8-12 Year Old)Youth Drama Camp is a one-week introduction to theatre for children. The camp explores theatrical performance, characterization, and improvisation principles. Campers will learn how to navigate the stage, find their way around a script, and learn tools to help them continue growing as young actors. Campers will team up to help construct set pieces for the youth performance camp that will appear on stage at the Morton Theatre at the end of the summer. Teen Encore campers earn program credit as scenic artists for the youth summer performance and get to see their work on stage in a live performance at the end of the summer camp season. (Quinn Hall, Memorial Park)Theatre Performance Camp (8-12 Year Old)A two-week intensive performance camp for youth going through the theatrical process from audition to performance. Campers will be cast in a production, learn their parts, and prepare for an end-of-camp performance for a live audience. (At Morton Theatre with a performance at 7:00 pm)Children may be checked in at 9:00 am and pick up is at 3:45 pm. ACC has no after-day care; see the guardian handbook for the late fee policy.Please provide a lunch for your child each day. Refrigeration is not available. We ask that you not pack peanuts or peanut butter if possible. Also, you may send your child with a water bottle to use throughout the day so that they can refill it. Please mark the child’s name and your phone number on the water bottle and lunch boxes. Children are asked to wear close-toed shoes at all times. Children also should not bring valuables such as phones, jewelry, toys, or games to camp. We cannot be responsible for items either becoming lost or damaged.Health and Safety: The health and safety of your child is our priority. Kinderswim - Kinderswim 9am - Memorial Park The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Kinderswim program is a free initiative started with the goal of helping ACC children learn how to swim. The program is offered to all Athens-Clarke County 5-year-old children at no cost. The lessons are broken into three, 45-minute classes a week for three weeks, for a total of nine lessons, and are available at all of the ACCLS pools. Participants who complete at least seven of the nine lessons will receive a free pool pass for the remainder of the pool season.Rules & Tips - All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit. Cotton is not allowed in the pool. - Participants cannot register after the first two lessons to ensure swimmers have adequate time to learn to swim safely. - Participants should bring their own towels. - Although there is no cost, participants must register online. - Participants must be 5-years-old to take part in Kinderswim.

Kinderswim - Kinderswim 9am - Memorial Park The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Kinderswim program is a free initiative started with the goal of helping ACC children learn how to swim. The program is offered to all Athens-Clarke County 5-year-old children at no cost. The lessons are broken into three, 45-minute classes a week for three weeks, for a total of nine lessons, and are available at all of the ACCLS pools. Participants who complete at least seven of the nine lessons will receive a free pool pass for the remainder of the pool season.Rules & Tips - All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit. Cotton is not allowed in the pool. - Participants cannot register after the first two lessons to ensure swimmers have adequate time to learn to swim safely. - Participants should bring their own towels. - Although there is no cost, participants must register online. - Participants must be 5-years-old to take part in Kinderswim.

From pollinators and decomposers to underground engineers, campers will discover the tiny but mighty creatures that keep ecosystems thriving.Week 4: June 23rd-27th"Birds and Beaks" Join us for a week dedicated to our feathered friends! Campers will explore the amazing world of birds, learning about their unique adaptations and diverse habitats. Get ready to flap, chirp, and explore the wonders of birds!Week 5: June 30th-July 3rd *NO CAMP FRIDAY, JULY 4TH*"Flora Fanatics"During this week, campers will explore the incredible variety of plant life, from towering trees to tiny wildflowers. They will learn how plants grow, survive, and support entire ecosystems! Hopefully, this experience will inspire campers to blossom into junior botanists.Week 6: July 7th-11th"Reptile Rangers"Slither, crawl, and explore a thrilling time all about reptiles! Campers will dive into the scaly world of snakes, lizards, and turtles, discovering their unique roles in ecosystems. Get ready for a week of scaly surprises and a chance to change the narrative on these misunderstood creatures! Week 7: July 14th-18th"Dusky Dwellers" Step into the twilight and explore the creatures that come alive at dusk! Campers will discover the fascinating lives of nocturnal and crepuscular animals like owls, foxes, and skunks all during the convenient hours of the day.Week 8: July 21st-25th"Animal Architects"Prepare to uncover the amazing engineers of the animal kingdom! Campers will explore how creatures like beavers, birds, ants, and spiders create incredible homes and habitats in nature.Camp registration is limited to 4 weeks per camper. Campers must bring a bag lunch. Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Early Drop Off (7:30 am to 9:00 am) and/or Late Pick Up (4:00 pm to 5:30 pm) are available for an additional fee.Participants will receive via email a guide to camp including what to bring daily and camp rules/needs. You will also receive a pickup tag to display in your vehicle at drop off/pick up times on the first day of camp.Can't wait to explore the wonders of the wild - all summer long!

Kinderswim - Kinderswim 9am - Memorial Park The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Kinderswim program is a free initiative started with the goal of helping ACC children learn how to swim. The program is offered to all Athens-Clarke County 5-year-old children at no cost. The lessons are broken into three, 45-minute classes a week for three weeks, for a total of nine lessons, and are available at all of the ACCLS pools. Participants who complete at least seven of the nine lessons will receive a free pool pass for the remainder of the pool season.Rules & Tips - All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit. Cotton is not allowed in the pool. - Participants cannot register after the first two lessons to ensure swimmers have adequate time to learn to swim safely. - Participants should bring their own towels. - Although there is no cost, participants must register online. - Participants must be 5-years-old to take part in Kinderswim.

Theatre: Summer Camp 2025 - Teen Drama Camp Summer Camp 2025 Historical Performance Theatre Camp (10-16 Year Old)Athens Creative Theatre presents a one-week camp focused on researching important historical figures and preparing a dramatic presentation on the character of the camper's chosen historical figure. The camp will center around exploring history and learning the principles of dramatization while equipping children with the tools they need to present aural history in a creative and fun way. (Quinn Hall, Memorial Park) Teen Drama Camp (13-17 Year Old) A one-week intensive camp focused on adding valuable skills to the developing actor's "tool-kit". Campers will explore the range of human emotions through theatre games and activities, develop their script reading and comprehension skills through monologue and scene work, and develop improvisational skills. Teen Drama Camp is a place to grow as a young actor and to build skills amongst peers. (Quinn Hall, Memorial Park)Youth Drama Camp (8-12 Year Old)Youth Drama Camp is a one-week introduction to theatre for children. The camp explores theatrical performance, characterization, and improvisation principles. Campers will learn how to navigate the stage, find their way around a script, and learn tools to help them continue growing as young actors. (Quinn Hall, Memorial Park)Teen Encore Camp (13-17 Year Old)A technical theatre camp focused on scenic design and construction. Campers will team up to help construct set pieces for the youth performance camp that will appear on stage at the Morton Theatre at the end of the summer. Teen Encore campers earn program credit as scenic artists for the youth summer performance and get to see their work on stage in a live performance at the end of the summer camp season. (Quinn Hall, Memorial Park)Theatre Performance Camp (8-12 Year Old)A two-week intensive performance camp for youth going through the theatrical process from audition to performance. Campers will be cast in a production, learn their parts, and prepare for an end-of-camp performance for a live audience. (At Morton Theatre with a performance at 7:00 pm)Children may be checked in at 9:00 am and pick up is at 3:45 pm. ACC has no after-day care; see the guardian handbook for the late fee policy.Please provide a lunch for your child each day. Refrigeration is not available. We ask that you not pack peanuts or peanut butter if possible. Also, you may send your child with a water bottle to use throughout the day so that they can refill it. Please mark the child’s name and your phone number on the water bottle and lunch boxes. Children are asked to wear close-toed shoes at all times. Children also should not bring valuables such as phones, jewelry, toys, or games to camp. We cannot be responsible for items either becoming lost or damaged.Health and Safety: The health and safety of your child is our priority. If circumstances have changed since you filled out the health form and your child’s needs have changed, let us know. Face masks are optional.
