Kinderswim - Kinderswim 9am - Memorial Park The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Kinderswim program is a free initiative started with the goal of helping ACC children learn how to swim. The program is offered to all Athens-Clarke County 5-year-old children at no cost. The lessons are broken into three, 45-minute classes a week for three weeks, for a total of nine lessons, and are available at all of the ACCLS pools. Participants who complete at least seven of the nine lessons will receive a free pool pass for the remainder of the pool season.Rules & Tips - All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit. Cotton is not allowed in the pool. - Participants cannot register after the first two lessons to ensure swimmers have adequate time to learn to swim safely. - Participants should bring their own towels. - Although there is no cost, participants must register online. - Participants must be 5-years-old to take part in Kinderswim.

Explore outdoor and nature-based activities from swimming and hiking to animal encounters and more.Week 1: June 3rd-7th"The Fantastic Five" (Senses)Get ready to embark on a sensory-rich adventure! We will discover how the five senses allow us to explore the natural world. We will also put these senses to the test and see how animal senses differ from our own!Week 2: June 10th-14th"The Dark Night" (Nocturnal Lifestyles)What happens to the world after the sun sets? This week we are exploring nature under the moonlight. We will be exposing the hidden secrets of nocturnal animals at Bear Hollow Zoo and their lifestyles!Week 3: June 17th-18th & June 20th-21st *NO CAMP WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19TH*"The Hunger Games" (Diets & Energy Exchange)This week is all about the exchange of energy throughout the animal kingdom! Get excited to discover the differences between omnivores, carnivores, and herbivores and learn about each of their unique roles in the ecosystem. Week 4: June 24th-28th"Where the Wild Things Are" (Habitats & Niches)Let's talk about all of the wildlife in Georgia! How does the Georgia landscape provide habitats and support the needs of certain species? Prepare to become an expert on what makes a habitat a home for these native neighbors!Week 5: July 1st-3rd & July 5th *NO CAMP THURSDAY, JULY 4TH*"Happy Feet" (Animal Locomotion & Tracks)How do snakes get around without feet? During this week, we will figure out how animals move around and how to identify their tracks. Prepare to take a walk on the wild side and learn how animals navigate their environments!Week 6: July 8th-12th"Turning Red" (Adaptations)How do animals deal with the summer heat? Do they have to take a dip in the pool too? During this week at summer camp, we will discover the importance of animal adaptations and how these aid in their survival and well-being! Week 7: July 15-19th"The Way of the Water" (Water)How important is water? Why do we, and animals, need it to survive and thrive? Splash into this immersing week at summer camp, where we will explore water’s role in nature. Get ready to slip and slide into some water fun!Week 8: July 22nd-26th"Into the Woods" (Outdoor Exploration)Join us for a week of summer camp devoted to all things outdoors. Prepare to become a naturalist and jump into the world of bugs, flowers, animals, and everything in-between! Help us wrap up summer in the best way: by utilizing your nature navigator skills!Camp registration is limited to 4 weeks per camper. Campers must bring a bag lunch. Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Get excited to discover the differences between omnivores, carnivores, and herbivores and learn about each of their unique roles in the ecosystem. Week 4: June 24th-28th"Where the Wild Things Are" (Habitats & Niches)Let's talk about all of the wildlife in Georgia! How does the Georgia landscape provide habitats and support the needs of certain species? Prepare to become an expert on what makes a habitat a home for these native neighbors!Week 5: July 1st-3rd & July 5th *NO CAMP THURSDAY, JULY 4TH*"Happy Feet" (Animal Locomotion & Tracks)How do snakes get around without feet? During this week, we will figure out how animals move around and how to identify their tracks. Prepare to take a walk on the wild side and learn how animals navigate their environments!Week 6: July 8th-12th"Turning Red" (Adaptations)How do animals deal with the summer heat? Do they have to take a dip in the pool too? During this week at summer camp, we will discover the importance of animal adaptations and how these aid in their survival and well-being! Week 7: July 15-19th"The Way of the Water" (Water)How important is water? Why do we, and animals, need it to survive and thrive? Splash into this immersing week at summer camp, where we will explore water’s role in nature. Get ready to slip and slide into some water fun!Week 8: July 22nd-26th"Into the Woods" (Outdoor Exploration)Join us for a week of summer camp devoted to all things outdoors. Prepare to become a naturalist and jump into the world of bugs, flowers, animals, and everything in-between! Help us wrap up summer in the best way: by utilizing your nature navigator skills!Camp registration is limited to 4 weeks per camper. Campers must bring a bag lunch. Camp hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Early Drop Off (7:30 am to 9:00 am) and/or Late Pick Up (4:00 pm to 5:30 pm) are available for an additional fee.Participants will receive via email a guide to camp including what to bring daily and camp rules/needs. You will also receive a pickup tag to display in your vehicle at drop off/pick up times on the first day of camp.Can't wait to have a wild summer!

Kinderswim - Kinderswim 5:30pm - Memorial Park The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Kinderswim program is a free initiative started with the goal of helping ACC children learn how to swim. The program is offered to all Athens-Clarke County 5-year-old children at no cost. The lessons are broken into three, 45-minute classes a week for three weeks, for a total of nine lessons, and are available at all of the ACCLS pools. Participants who complete at least seven of the nine lessons will receive a free pool pass for the remainder of the pool season.Rules & Tips - All swimmers are required to wear a swimsuit. Cotton is not allowed in the pool. - Participants cannot register after the first two lessons to ensure swimmers have adequate time to learn to swim safely. - Participants should bring their own towels. - Although there is no cost, participants must register online. - Participants must be 5-years-old to take part in Kinderswim.

Swim School - Swim School Session 1 - 5:30pm Memorial Park Athens-Clarke Leisure Services offers small group swim lessons for children ages 3 and up. All lessons are taught by certified lifeguards. Classes are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. Your child must be 3 years old or older and potty trained to participate in Swim School.The lessons are broken into three, 45-minute classes a week for three weeks, for a total of nine lessons, and are available at the Memorial Park, Rocksprings Park, Lay Park, and Heard Park pools.
