• Explore the secrets of Whitehall on a guided hike through the property with ACC and friends. You can explore the history of the land going back millenniums, from its Indigenous peoples to its transformation into an industrial landscape.

Forest Bathing Experience
We invite you to take a moment to invest in your health and wellbeing through a guided immersive experience in the forest with our facilitator, Heather Matherly, who is a Master Naturalist and Forest Therapy Guide. You can expect a safe and gentle walk with instructions to help relax and focus the mind on the present. The walk will end with a tea ceremony from local plants.
Cost: $20 residents/ $30 non-residents

Audiobook Hike
Take your story on the go! In partnership with Athens Regional Library, join us for a refreshing walk on the trail while listening to the audiobook of your choice. This program combines the joy of reading with the benefits of light exercise and time outdoors.
Bring your favorite way to listen to your audiobook, headphones, and walking shoes and we’ll provide the beautiful trail and community atmosphere. After the hike, enjoy snacks, drinks and the chance to swap listening recommendations with fellow participants.
Who: 18 and up
When: 3rd Saturday of each month, 9:30am-11:30am

Lakeside Trail Hike & Paddle Adventure
Want to experience the Lakeside Trail without hiking the full 7.5 miles? We’ve got you covered! Join us for a relaxed five-mile hike through the most scenic sections of this iconic trail, followed by a freestyle paddle from the boat ramp to the beach. We’ll wrap up the day with a friendly picnic lunch hosted by the staff of Sandy Creek Park and Trails & Open Space. Bring your own boat, or rent one from us! Make sure to pack water, sunscreen, and your paddling clothes.

Early Spring Wildflower Ramble
Join us as we walk a portion of the Lakeside Trail to admire spring wildflowers. This hike will be lead by horticulturist Heather Koepnick and the Trails and Open Space staff.
