East Athens Educational Dance Center provides quality dance training and programming for participants of All Ages, Skills, and Ethnic Backgrounds. Our facility specializes in the genres of Concert Dance: Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, & West African dance forms.

  • Tippy Tots for Twos: Fun and Exciting class that introduces students to music and dance. To help students build confidence and independence, classes are held without parent supervision. Parents are required to acquire dance wear prior to the start of class: Girls: black leotard (no skirts attached), flesh tone transitional tights, and pink ballet shoes. Boys: white fitted t-shirt, black biker shorts, and black ballet shoes.

  •  KinderMovement: Dancing to their favorite music from shows and movies, students will utilize their imagination to explore and express themselves. Along with the fundamentals of dance, children will learn basic dance language in preparation for ballet class. Students will learn basic shapes, practice numbers and letters as they dance.To help students build confidence and independence, classes are held without parent supervision. Parents are required to acquire dance wear prior to the start of class: Girls: black leotard (no skirt attached), flesh tone transitional tights, and pink ballet shoes. Boys: white fitted t-shirt, black biker shorts, and black ballet shoes.
  • Ballet and Tap for 4-6 year olds: This is an open level program for 4 - 6 year olds. The program concentrates on ballet and tap dance. To help students build confidence and independence, classes are held without parent supervision. Parents are required to acquire dance wear prior to the start of class. Girls: black leotard (no skirt attached), flesh tone tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes.   • Ballet and Tap for 7 - 12 year olds : This is an open level program. The program concentrates on reinforcing tap dance fundamentals while challenging students to progress in ballet and tap dance technique. Parents are required to acquire dance wear prior to the start of class. Girls: black leotard (no skirt attached), flesh tone tights, pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes. Boys: White fitted t-shirt, black biker shorts, black ballet shoes, and black tap shoes.
  • Ballet For Grace: Open level class for the beginning to moderately trained student. This class introduces the student to the fundamentals of ballet. Parents are required to acquire dance-wear prior to the start of class: Girls: black leotard (no skirt attached), flesh tone tights, and pink ballet shoes. Boys: white fitted t-shirt, black biker shorts, and black ballet shoes.
  • Performance Class: This multi-discipline dance class is for the beginner to moderately trained dancer. Students will learn Ballet, Jazz, and Hip Hop dance. This class is geared towards students who want an opportunity to enhance their performance skills. They will have the opportunity to perform in the EAEDC Fall Show. Parents are required to acquire dancewear prior to the start of class: Solid white t-shirt, solid black leggings, and black jazz shoes. Participants must sign video and photo release in order to participate in this program. 
  • Hip Hop & Jazz: The Hip Hop and Jazz Dance class will teach students structure of jazz dance, which includes technique, jazz isolations, and locomotor skills. The high energy class is also full of fun and exciting Hip Hop dance movements from a variety of styles. Music selections are clean and age appropriate. Prior to the start of class, parents are required to purchase dance wear. Girls: Black leotard with black shorts or black jazz pants/leggings and black jazz shoes. Boys: White fitted t-shirt, black biker shorts or black jazz pants and black jazz shoes.
  • Modern Dance: Open level class where students will learn various modern dance techniques ranging in improvisation to Horton Technique. Prior to the start of class, parents are required to purchase dance wear. Girls: black leotard (no attached skirts) and black leggings. Boys: white t-shirt and black leggings or shorts.
  • Community Dance and Drum: In this program community, movement, and music come together to promote friendships, fun, and collaboration as students develop rhythms, musicality, and coordination under the guidance of our expert instructors. Students age 6 and under should be accompanied by a participating adult.
  • Adult Jazz: Designed for anyone interested in exploring jazz dance in a welcoming, community focused environment. This class introduces essential jazz technique, musicality, and style through simple exercises and fun, approachable choreography. No previous dance experience is required.  Please wear jazz shoes and comfortable clothing. 
  • Teen/Adult Tap: Tap into your rhythm and creativity in this fun class designed to explore the fundamentals of tap dance! Tap shoes and comfortable clothing required as you explore a variety of tap dance steps and fun choreography guaranteed to thrill and challenge! No previous dance experience is required.It’s a great opportunity to discover the energy and creativity of dance.
Dance 12 & Under
Open level classes known as Single Classes are for the beginning to moderately trained students. These Single Classes introduce the student to the fundamentals of dance: Ballet, Modern, Tap, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and West African dance. Interested students may be invited or request to audition for the more advanced Accelerated Programs (See accelerated description). Parents are required to acquire dance-wear prior to the start of class. EAEDC has a Dance wear store where students can purchase their dance wear needs. Limited Inventory.

Accelerated Programs
This program offers intensive technical training to develop and strengthen posture, placement, flexibility, balance, coordination, and rhythm. Students train in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, West African dance, and more. The Accelerated Program students participate in workshops, classes, rehearsals, visiting artists, costume use, community outreach performances, annual concert, special events, etc. Students are accepted by Audition and by Staff/Teacher Recommendation ONLY. Participants MUST SIGN the video and photo release.
