A recreational youth basketball league emphasizing the importance of physical health and teamwork, while teaching the basic fundamentals of basketball. Each team will average 2 activities per week (practice and/or game play) throughout the season.
Registration: Begins Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. for ACC residents and Friday, October 6, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. for out of county residents.
Age Divisions: 6U (COED), 8U (COED), 10U Boys and 10U Girls, 12U Boys and 14u Boys. *12u Girls UPDATE: In an effort to ensure we have sufficient interest and commitment before finalizing the roster, we have decided to initiate a waitlist for the 12U girls team registration. If we reach the required number of interested participants, we will move forward with activating the roster.
Age Control Date: September 1, 2023. Age on control date determines league placement. (Must be 5 years old).
Practice & Game Dates: Weekday practices will begin the week of November 12. There will be one practice scheduled per week. Saturday games will begin in December and run through February. Reservations have been made at East Athens Community Center (6u and 8u) and Lay Park (10u, 12u, 14u) for both practices and games.
Player Equipment: All players are provided a team jersey.
Fee: $65 for County Resident. $97.50 for Non-County Resident (Scholarship eligible)
Volunteer Coaches: For individuals interested in registering for the youth basketball league, we are also in need of dedicated volunteer coaches. Volunteering as a coach is not only a fulfilling experience but also greatly benefits both the players and the volunteers themselves. It provides an opportunity to impart valuable skills, build character, and foster a sense of teamwork and camaraderie among the young athletes.
As an additional perk for parents who step up to volunteer as coaches, we are pleased to offer reimbursement of the registration fees (at the end of the season) for one of their children who participates in the league. This is our way of showing appreciation for your commitment to the growth and development of our young athletes while making the league more accessible to families.
