Here at Athens Clarke Gymnastics Academy we believe every child is important and valuable. We pledge to coach and develop each child that walks through our doors regardless of their level of talent. Our main goals are to provide a clean, safe, fun learning environment and to build the self esteem of every child. We develop healthy, happy children from the inside out! We teach developmental gymnastics and use it to develop coordination, confidence, self-esteem, respect for others, sportsmanship, improve reading skills and much more in our students.

Our Staff

We have the best instructors and coaches in the industry with well over 100 years of combined experience! Our staff has been carefully hand selected because of their previous experience in gymnastics, working with children, and knowledge of the sport. The most important reason they were chosen is because of their desire to work with children and to make a difference in their lives. As a staff we work hard so your children can play hard. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for trusting us. We pledge to be good role models for your children and to keep their safety and well-being our number one priorities. Staff members attend state, regional and national training programs throughout the year as well as monthly training because maintaining up-to-date skill development and safety awareness is one of our top priorities. 

Health Policy
  • If your child has been sent home from school due to a high fever, s/he is not allowed to participate in gymnastics until s/he has been fever free without the aid of fever reducing medication for 24-hours.
  • If a participant or family member has been exposed to anyone testing positive for COVID, the participant/family member must take a COVID test. If the results are negative, the participant/family member must stay out of class until fever free for 24-hours without the use of anti-fever medications before returning to class or the facility.
  • If a participant or family member receives a positive COVID test, they are required to stay home for 5-days and must be clear of fever for 24-hours without medication. Required to wear a mask for 5 days before returning to class or the facility.
  • Students and anyone observing will have temperatures taken upon entering the Gymnastics facility.
  • Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be allowed to enter the facility and must be fever free without the aid of fever reducing medication for 24-hours before returning.

Fantastic Friday
  • This fun program is open to students 10 months to 4 years of age along with a parent and/or caregiver. Come in and enjoy our facility in a relaxed, clean and non-committed environment every Friday. An instructor supervises the fun while a parent and/or caregiver lead their little ones through amazing obstacle courses. A parent or caregiver must remain with the child at all times.

Parent and Tots (12 mos-2 yrs)
These classes are for boys and girls and their parents or caregivers to further their natural curiosity and exploration in a clean, safe, and FUN learning environment! With specific, progressive, age appropriate lesson plans and weekly themes, your toddler is sure to grow, develop, and meet new friends. Studies have show that young children who participate in gymnastics benefit in 10 areas: 1. Vestibular - sense of balance 2. Proprioception - understand space and position 3. Social skills - taking turns, sharing and peer interaction 4. Classroom skills - listening, following directions, and staying with the class 5.Active Play - establishing exercise as fun 6. Tumble Tots (3 years)
These classes are designed to help boys and girls 3 years old develop coordination and physical fitness through basic motor and gymnastics skills. Students will learn special activities with the use of gymnastics equipment fitted to their small size. Students must be potty-trained and comfortable separating from their caregiver. Classes meet once per week. Class length 45-minutes.

Advanced Progressive (7-12 years)
This is not a competitive team. Athens Clarke Gymnastics Academy’s Advance Progressive Gymnastics is a Rec League program that is designed to challenge students beyond the recreational classes and prepare others for competitive gymnastics should they desire to do so. Girls will learn skills and routines on all four events (vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise). There may be an opportunity for the gymnasts to perform these routines in a special competition (once per school year) where they will be judged and given scores. This is a fantastic way for our gymnasts to be able to compete! Gymnasts entering into our Rec League 7 years and older, require a recommendation from an instructor along with an evaluation before the gymnasts will be allowed to register for these classes. Classes meet twice per week. Length of class: 55-minutes to one hour and 25 minutes depending on the class level.

Team
Athens-Clarke Gymnastics Academy’s competitive teams require an evaluation by the Program Specialist prior to registration. Team members are selected based on strength, flexibility, maturity, and skill development. Evaluations are held twice a year; however, transfer gymnasts may considered at any time during the year. If your daughter has not been approved for this program, she will be removed.
