Art Camps: SUMMER 2026

parking and drop off pick up
Summer Art Camp 2026: LYNDON HOUSE ARTS CENTER
Due to nearby construction, parking at this time is very limited.  We will use a car drop off and pick up process. We are delighted that your child is attending Summer Art Camp 2026 at the Lyndon House Arts Center.

Here is a fun video we made for you going over all the things you need to know, and all about our new drop-off/pick-up policy:

Drop-off and Pick-up

Due to nearby construction and limited parking, we will be using a curbside car drop-off and pick-up system for the safety and efficiency of all families.
Please note that this process is different from our Tuesday/Thursday afterschool system. If you have participated in that program before, be aware that traffic flow will run in the opposite direction for summer camp.

Additionally, Lay Park Summer Camp will be dropping off in the morning at the same time. Their program will use the lower end of the parking lot, while Lyndon House Arts Center families will use the area in front of the Children’s Studio. An email dedicated to drop-off and pick-up procedures will be sent out to you, but for your reference, the map and procedure is included below.

New Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedure

ALL summer camp participants from both camps will enter the parking lot through Monroe St off of College Ave .

When you enter the parking lot, stay to the right. Follow the YELLOW route on the map for Lyndon House Arts Center (the BLUE route is for Lay Park).

Lay Park campers will be turning left for their drop-off- you can go in the right lane to get around them to proceed straight to the Arts Center. During drop-off and pick-up times, this drive will operate as a one-way route. All Art Camp vehicles will exit onto Hoyt Street by the fire station.
  • Drop-off for Lyndon House Arts Center and Lay Park is
between 8:45-9:15 AM.
  • Pick-up for Lyndon House Arts Center’s ART CAMP is at 2 PM
Lay Park pick-up is at a later time.
  • Required identification sheet: Each family will receive a dashboard sheet listing the camper’s group, assigned number, and authorized guardian(s). This sheet must be placed on the driver’s-side dashboard and remain visible for staff verification.
  • Designated loading zone: Vehicles must pull forward to the painted line on the asphalt beside the Children’s Studio entrance for drop-off and pick-up.
  • Controlled entry/exit point: Campers may enter and exit vehicles only on the sidewalk side, and only at the designated loading zone.
  • Queue spacing: For everyone’s safety, do not open vehicle doors until the car ahead has completed loading/unloading and moved forward and you have stopped at the painted line.
  • Lastly, we ask for your patience and understanding.  We are all learning this together.  Our Number one priority is the health, safety and well-being of your child.  We may end up tweaking this procedure along the way as needed                         ____________________________________________________________________________
We start each day of art camp with a simple T'ai Chi exercise as a group to facilitate mindfulness through this team-building activity.

Explorations in Contemporary Art: 5-7 Year olds

Exciting hands-on art projects will allow young artists to have fun exploring the world of contemporary art while developing fundamental art skills, learning about new artists and new vocabulary, and meeting creative challenges.  Projects are designed to use various media including drawing, painting, mixed media, and 3-D.

Studio Art Practice: 8-11 Yr olds
Exciting hands-on art projects will allow young artists to have fun exploring the world of art while developing fundamental art skills, learning new vocabulary, and meeting creative challenges.
Young artists will learn a variety of techniques, using a selection of media, in studio art classes taught by professional teaching artists. Students are invited to question, explore, investigate, and solve problems as they create art and learn about professional-level studio practices.  There will be opportunities to work in 2D and 3D media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and more.

Puppetry and Studio Art Practice: 5-7 Yr olds
Participants will work on a combination of puppetry and other age appropriate studio art projects like printmaking, painting/drawing, and ceramics.  Each camper will have finished studio art pieces.  They will also have a finished puppet and there will be a puppet performance at the end that we invite family/friends to experience! Supplies are provided. This will be a fun and informative class for young artists/puppeteers (or just enthusiasts) who are 5-7 years old.

Pick-up will take place at 2 PM.

Please provide a snack and a lunch for your child each day.  Refrigeration is not available but food will be kept in a cool place. We ask that you not pack peanuts or peanut butter if possible.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Also, you may send your child with a water bottle for them to use throughout the day so that they can refill it.  Please mark the child’s name and your phone number on the water bottle and lunch boxes.

Children should not bring valuables such as phones, jewelry, toys, or games to camp.  We cannot be responsible for items either becoming lost or damaged.

If this is your camper's first ACC camp this summer and you registered for this camp prior to Sunday, April 17th, your camper will go home with an ACC camp shirt from us.

We host ever-changing exhibitions in our wonderful galleries.  We welcome your visit to the Arts Center’s galleries during regular operating hours: Tuesday & Thursday, 10 AM-8 PM; Wednesday, Friday & Saturday, 10 AM–5 PM.  It is always free of charge.

Health and Safety: The health and safety of your child is our priority.  If circumstances have changed since you filled out the health form and your child’s needs have changed, let us know. Face masks are optional.
