We offer three Teen Clubs at the Lyndon House Arts Center!
The Lyndon House Arts Center offers three distinct, free teen art clubs, each mentored by a professional local artist to provide high-quality, hands-on instruction in a safe and creative environment

Teen Club Sessions (2025–2026)
We have now moved to a 4-session per year format. You will need to register for each session individually to attend all year.
Please note the following dates:
All Teen Clubs operate from 5:30-7:30 PM on their respective days.
- Session 1: September 2 – October 31 (9 weeks)
- Session 2: November 13 – December 18 (5 weeks)
- Session 3: January 13 – April 2 (12 weeks)
- Session 4: April 14 – May 21 (6 weeks)
Teen Club members will need to register for all four sessions to participate year-round.

All teens must be checked in and out by a parent or guardian with the Teen Mentor in their studio, unless we have a signed Age 12+ Walk Home Authorization Form on file allowing independent arrival and departure. For more information, please contact us: william.stephanos@accgov.com
-Teen Fashion Design & Sewing Club Our talented teaching artist, Tabitha Fielteau continues to contribute mentorship and valuable design and fabrication instruction. The club meets in the Lyndon House Arts Center's wonderful fiber studio with lots of sewing machines and all the tools needed to focus on design and sewing projects. Learn how to go from design to garment with the guidance of a professional fashion designer. Already having basic sewing skills is a bonus, but this program is open to beginners as well.
Mentored by teaching artist Tabitha Fielteau, participants in this club work on individual sewing projects. Examples of projects include:
Specific skills and tools taught in the club include:
- Garment creation: Teens learn the process of bringing a design from concept to a finished garment, with guidance from a professional fashion designer.
- Community showcases: The club hosts a fashion show twice a year showcasing the teen's work.
-Teen Cartoon & Illustration Club Our talented teaching artist and professional illustrator Robert Brown, continues to contribute wonderful lessons in drawing techniques, storytelling, cartoons/comics, Anime, Star Wars and everything Pop Culture. Robert has been mentoring this club for over 15 years.
Specific skills and tools taught in the club include:
- Pop culture art: Members explore drawing techniques, storytelling, cartoons, and comics, with a focus on popular culture topics like Anime and Star Wars.
- Drawing challenges: Participants are given drawing challenges to encourage engagement and skill development.
-Teen Media Arts Club Our Teen Media Arts Club Mentor is Kidd Fielteau! With a background in beauty and fashion photography Kidd now runs Athens based Fell2 Photography. Students will engage in the process of videography by forming their own story ideas and then creating and editing digital video. Our long-term goal is to build media arts skills that support a variety of career options, higher order thinking, problem-solving, creativity, cultural experiences, and historical events in a global learning context. In addition we provide a safe place for young people to learn, have fun and create meaningful projects.

LHAC Teen Clubs (12 years and older), are free, but online registration is required.
The Teen Fashion Design & Sewing Club hosts fashion shows in the lower Atrium Gallery at the Arts Center. They are free and open to the public.
The Teen Media Arts Club routinely hosts film screenings and other avenues. These are also open to the public. Look for announcements for these events.
Please have your teen bring $5 (cash only) for pizza. If they prefer to bring their own food, you can skip the $5. We will eat outside when possible.
Our teen clubs provide a safe & nurturing place for young people to gain life skills, to learn, and have fun while creating meaningful relationships with mentors while gaining valuable and appreciable skills.
The Arts Education Department at Lyndon House Arts Center is dedicated to providing high-quality arts education curriculum and enrichment to youth, adults, and teens in the Athens area. We host adult evening classes, workshops, after-school youth classes, 3 Teen Clubs, and a comprehensive summer arts camp experience. The Arts Center includes 7 professional-level art studios including Painting/Drawing, Printmaking, Fiber, Photography, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Jewelry/Metals. There is a separate children's wing with wonderful facilities, a covered outdoor work court used as an outdoor studio and grassy lawns.
