Studio Art Practice: Hand-Built Ceramics, 7-11 yrs
Six Thursdays, 4-5:30 pm
Starts March 7, 2024

Studio Art Practice: Hand-Built Ceramics
with Lacy Hamilton is an engaging after-school class designed for children ages 7-11 to explore their creativity through the fascinating world of pottery. In this hands-on course, taught in the Lyndon House Arts Center’s professional Ceramics Studio, young artists will learn a solid introduction to a hand built ceramics studio practice, focusing on technique and overall studio literacy. Through pinch, coil, and slab methods, participants will mold and shape clay into unique, personalized creations. The class fosters imagination, fine motor skills, and a sense of accomplishment as children bring their imaginative visions to life in the form of handcrafted ceramics. With a supportive and fun learning environment, Hand-Built Ceramics encourages self-expression and introduces kids to the joy of working with their hands to create beautiful and functional art pieces. Creativity and experimentation will be encouraged!  All clay and glazes are included.
